Fabby-Do Caters to the Imagination and Creativity of Children In a Place Where Fun Is a Given

Welcoming. Vibrant. Fun. These are just a few words which can be used to describe Doylestown’s creation boutique for kids, Fabby-Do.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Fabby-Do and chat with owner Robin Brackbill, or “Miss Robin” or “Miss Fabby” to the kids, about what makes Fabby-Do such a popular spot for children, a locale where they can let their creativity shine and have a fabulously fun time while doing so.

Situated at its new location at 64 South Main Street, Fabby-Do exudes a vintage, 1950’s feel, where brightly colored pastel colors fill the room and eye-catching décor is at every turn. As soon as you walk in the door, you’ll find yourself greeted by the Fabby-Do mascot, Myrtle Gertrude, a 1940’s carousel horse, which kids young and old adore.

Fabby-Do provides over 100 different crafts for kids to partake in and caters to children, from age 2 through the early teen years. Some of the craft options include jewelry making, nail painting, makeup application design, hair extensions, dolly hairdo fun, a pillow tie craft, sand art, t-shirt design and more. From single craft options to complete creativity packages, your options are wide and varied at Fabby-Do.

In addition to offering walk-in options for those who are searching for activities to keep the young ones entertained during the day, birthday party festivities are also available, which can be held in a separate party room, accommodating up to 30 party guests. For those who wish to have the Fabby-Do party come to them, Robin offers in-home Fabby-Do parties as well as outdoor party options, thanks to the Fabby Bus, a lovely pink and mint vintage VW bus, with its own photo booth.

As if all of these wonderful inclusions aren’t already enough to make you start planning your next visit to Fabby-Do, there will be two new additions to the shop in the very near future: a candy wall and novelty ice cream offerings!

Regarding how Fabby-Do came to fruition, I wanted to learn more about Robin and her journey into becoming a small business owner in Doylestown. It is important to note that Fabby-Do is not new to the borough, although it has only been at its current location on South Main Street for approximately two months. Prior to that time, Fabby-Do was located in a smaller, yet equally as inviting, shop on East State Street, across from the County Theater, however, the business originally was founded as a mobile business in 2010. Fast forward to present day, acknowledging the need for a larger storefront (and parking as a plus!), Fabby-Do moved to South Main Street in September of this year.

So, how did the concept of Fabby-Do take form?

“The concept was inspired by my grandmother, Dorothy, who was a 1950’s mom and a woman who was so full of love and hospitality, and who really loved kids,” states Robin.

“I’m the oldest of ten kids and I grew up in a large family, a family where everyone was creative in some way,” she continued. “I wanted the shop to revolve around kids, fun and creativity.”

And, creative and fun Fabby-Do certainly is. No matter what type of activity a child may be interested in, this shop offers multiple options, allowing children to use their imagination and create in a myriad of ways.

As for what kids enjoy most about Fabby-Do, Robin feels it is the overall experience which draws children (and parents) into the shop and keeps them entertained time and time again.

“It’s an experience,” states Robin. “It transports you somewhere, you feel nostalgic here.”

Fabby Do Gifts

The Fabby-Do team is getting ready for the holidays by preparing a number of events and special deals. The first holiday event will be held on Black Friday, November 23, when Mrs. Claus visits the shop. A few weeks later, Santa Claus will be spending time at Fabby-Do during the Breakfast with Santa event (date TBD). As for holiday deals, one of the upcoming specials will consist of a package of art creation experiences, available at a discounted rate.

In addition to being your go-to spot for arts and crafts and other activities revolving around imagination and creativity, Fabby-Do is a boutique offering clothing, toys and other items which your children (and those on your gift list) are certain to love. Gift certificates will also make ideal holiday presents for the younger ones on your list.
