Cafe Soul is the latest restaurant to open its doors in Doylestown and this music-themed eatery is dishing out spectacular breakfast and lunch offerings with a purpose: to benefit local Central Bucks organizations!

Cafe Soul, located at 800 North Easton Road, is a nonprofit restaurant which operates on a mission to benefit local organizations while offering sensational fare. From a savory brioche French toast breakfast option to an eight-ounce Angus burger served at lunchtime, these menu items are sure to please.

Other soon-to-be-favorite breakfast items include the Jazz Standards breakfast platter, featuring two eggs, any style, home fries or hash browns and choice of toast; the Choose Your Blues entree, with your choice of buttermilk pancakes, gluten-free pancakes, brioche French toast or Belgian waffle; and, Be Bop Bennys, including the traditional Benedict, Soul Benny and Florentine Benny options.

As for lunch choices, some of the delectable menu items include the daily quiche special served with a small Soul Salad; Soul Burger, a ten-ounce custom blend Angus burger topped with bacon, fried onions, mushrooms, cheese, and shredded lettuce and served with steak fries; Soulful Sandwiches, including many different options such as turkey, ham, roast beef, and homemade chicken salad, tuna salad and egg salad offerings, to name a few choices.

Cafe Soul also offers specialty bread options for those with gluten sensitivities, courtesy of Doylestown’s Nord. Nord uses only non-GMO flours with their sourdough-based products and a 24-hour cold proof method, producing a highly digestible bread option for those with gluten sensitivities.

And, be sure to order one of Cafe Soul’s deliciously decadent milkshakes, made from Shady Brook Farm-based Uncle Dave’s Homemade Ice Cream.

Celebrate 28 Years of Art at the Doylestown Arts Festival (Sept. 7–8)

The annual Doylestown Arts Festival is quickly approaching and now is the time to mark this popular event down on your calendar.

This year’s festival will take place on Saturday, September 7, and Sunday, September 8, from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. on both days. Guests who attend this free event will be able to stroll through Doylestown borough and explore the creative offerings of more than 160 juried artists. But, that’s not all that this extraordinary local event offers to those who come from near and far to enjoy the festival weekend.

In addition to shopping at the various artist and artisan vendor tents, festival-goers can enjoy the following:

Sunflower Festival at Hellerick’s Family Farm (August 21–September 2)

Hellerick’s Family Farm in Doylestown will be hosting its not-to-be-missed Sunflower Festival August 21–September 2, from 10 a.m.–7 p.m. each day.

This flower-filled festival features fun for the entire family to enjoy. Guests are invited to walk or take a hayride out to Hellerick’s two-acre sunflower field to get a close-up look at these beautiful flowers, take pictures and embrace the scenery of the farm.

Also included in the admission fee is the Adventure Farm area at Hellerick’s. At the Adventure Farm area, you’ll find 40 different family-friendly activities to take part in as you enjoy the day at Hellerick’s Family Farm.

Reservations are required to attend and can be made online. The cost to attend is $12.99 per person and the price includes three-hour combined access to the sunflower fields and Adventure Farm, access to the Sunflower Festival tent, one sunflower to take home with you (additional sunflowers are $2 per stem), and educational sessions about sunflowers.

Opening Sunday: MeWow Cat Cafe in Doylestown

You’ve probably heard about cat cafes opening in different locations throughout the Philadelphia area. Well, if you have been wanting to visit one in the local area, get ready, as MeWow Cat Cafe will be opening its doors in Doylestown this Sunday, August 4!

MeWow Cat Cafe will be located at 3617 Old Easton Road in Doylestown. The new cafe will offer the opportunity to meet kittens and cats up for adoption and enable visitors to provide these loving animals with a permanent home. MeWow Cat Cafe has joined forces with the Bucks County SPCA and Kitty Junction, who provide the cats to the cafe in order to make a perfect cat-owner match!

While stopping by or enjoying a meet-and-greet with the kitties of MeWow Cat Cafe, visitors can purchase locally-sourced artisan coffee and homemade desserts during their time at the cafe. If you want to cuddle with the kittens and cats, advance reservations are required and can be made online. The cost to enjoy the Kitty Corral is $6 for 30 minutes of cuddle time. This cost helps to support the MeWow Cat Cafe and its furry residents.
